Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Chairs and Co-Chairs to help facilitate chapter meetings in and around the five boroughs, including Westchester, Suffolk County and other areas as assigned
- Consistently inform retirees at meetings (i.e., updating members on classes, events, Health Benefits, and other changes)
- Monitor Retiree classes and events, including but not limited to: Assisting facilities management to ensure that table and seating arrangements are compliant with the floor plan for the scheduled event. Assist with serving meals; maintain and secure DVD, TV and other audio equipment
- Assist class instructors in the facilitation of classes (Do’s and Don’ts, sign in sheets, start and end times, emergency contact lists)
- Provide oversight of the food deliveries (i.e., quality, freshness and quantity)
- Assist with the coordination of the annual holiday party seating for over 1,000 retirees; distribute tickets and keep a log of tickets sold and monies collected from tickets sales
- Collaborate with departments within the Fund and Aetna to assist retirees with benefit related issues
- Assist Retired Members Division (RMD) management team to review, update and communicate calendar of RMD chapter meetings, SOS topics, classes, and special events to the Communications Department for the Quarterly bulletin
- Collect attendance sheets for local classes and various functions; provide monthly reports on the number of Retirees attending various classes, chapter meetings, and other social events
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management
- Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent years of experience required
- Minimum two (2) years experience working with seniors, retirees and or pensioners required
- Knowledge of Retiree Health Benefits and to include Medicare and Aetna
- Basic skill level of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required, Smartphone Use
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills; able to follow up and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact with individuals at all levels, handle sensitive and confidential situations in a professional manner with tact and diplomacy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; highly organized self-starter
- Ability to travel to various location within the five boroughs of NYC, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk County and other areas as assigned
