Title: Admissions Screener/Scheduler FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Admissions Manager

Responsibilities:
- Ensures calls are answered or returned and screenings are completed timely.
- Conduct screening over the phone to obtain proper admission information to and maintain accurate scheduling.
- Schedule appointments for admissions and assist with coordination of admission paperwork.
- Maintain client cue and perform duties as necessary to achieve and maintain proper scheduling assignments.
- Assure bed availability and appropriated to maximize billing contracts
- Communicate and coordinate with referral sources to facilitate and expedite admissions process.
- Track and maintain census data to facilitate ease in scheduling and maximize bed availability.
- Screen walk-ins and assist in admission process duties as necessary.
- Track and maintain departmental reports on a regular basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
Minimum of two years’ experience in substance abuse treatment setting is essential. Dual diagnosis treatment work experience beneficial. Case Manager I or II, or PRSS is required for this position.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of the problems of alcoholism/drug dependence and co-occurring disorders and their effect on the individual and their family; of individual and group behavior; of general social, economic, and health problems; and of the community resources available to persons with alcohol/drug related problems; and of the long and short term effects of chemical dependency.
Skill in the techniques of interviewing and interfacing with chemically dependent persons to elicit their confidence, respect and responsible behavior. Possess good record keeping, typing and telephone skills. Organized and detail oriented. Computer literacy required.
Must be able to interact with difficult people in a positive manner. Organized and detail oriented. Must have experience with MS Suite.

Physical Requirements:
Light lifting, able to negotiate stairs.
