As a key member of the Wicked Weed Brewing team, the Bar Manager is accountable for all bar and taproom activities, understanding POS systems, personnel management and motivation, development and coaching, food safety, and customer satisfaction. This position requires the ability to manage a large staff effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant/pub environment. The bar manager must have open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provides a high level of customer service and manage operations with passion and integrity. Creates seasonal cocktail menus. Manages bar prep and creates a system to schedule prep amongst the bars team. Understands front-of-house and back-of-house operations. Oversees and manages all areas of the taproom and POS system during scheduled shifts. Responsible for liquor, wine, and beer ordering Assists in monthly beverage inventory. Ensures positive guest experience. Ensures a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Understands and maintains facilities at a level exceeding regulatory standards of quality, service, and cleanliness, including clean and sour beer lines. Responsible for the proper training of new employees Assists in the hiring, supervision, and peer review of employees. Provide ongoing feedback, establish performance expectations, and assist with performance reviews. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Candidate will have a minimum of one year of successful restaurant management experience. Minimum one year of bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant. Knowledge of and love for food and craft beer. Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to taproom problems. Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff. The ideal candidate should have self-discipline and the ability to take initiative. Strong leadership skills and an outgoing personality are also critical. That of a busy brewpub dining area and full-service kitchen. Late nights/early mornings. Fast-paced. The employee must frequently work in an environment with a moderate to high noise level. Hot or humid conditions. Cold conditions in the walk-in coolers. Steam, kitchen equipment, and chemicals. Physical Demands: Ability to be on your feet for long periods of standing and/or walking. Walking surfaces may be wet and/or slippery. Ability to frequently sit, stoop, kneel, crouch. Ability to frequently talk, hear, and smell. Ability to lift and/or move up to 55 lbs. safely and with proper body mechanics and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work effectively in a kitchen environment with fluctuations in temperature and conditions (heat, cold, humidity) for an extended period.
