Background:

HRCSD is seeking to hire Instructional Assistants and Paraprofessionals to work in the 2025 Migrant Summer School Program.  We will be running a K-12 Migrant Summer School Program, 9-12 Credit Recovery, and Extended School Year Program at Mid Valley Elementary School.  Summer School will run in July, but specific dates are still yet to be determined (July 4th is a holiday).  Staff must be available for ALL days of summer school as well as required inservice days.  The number and type of positions are dependent on funding and student enrollment.  Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred.

We need to hire qualified Instructional Assistants and Paraprofessionals to work in the 2025 Summer School, Credit Recovery and ESY programs.  Assigned hours will range between 4 and 6.5 hours/day.

Instructional Assistants will be placed with a classroom teacher to provide academic and enrichment supports to students as outlined in the Instructional Assistant job description on the District website. Instructional assistants will also be assigned to cafeteria, playground and other student supervision duties, as needed.  Paraprofessionals will provide intervention services for students who need targeted services, under the direction of the classroom teacher.

The number and type of positions is dependent on funding and student enrollment.

Qualifications:

The minimum qualification for Instructional Assistants and Paraprofessionals is possession of an Associates Degree from an accredited college or university, or the equivalent of 72 quarter credits of college coursework, or a passing score on the CBEST or the Pearson/NES ParaProfessional Assessment.  If you are a current district employee and are not an Instructional Assistant or Paraprofessional, you will need to order official college transcripts to be sent to the District Human Resources Office.  The hourly rate of pay will be based on the 2025/26 Classified Salary Schedule for Instructional Assistants and Paraprofessionals.  Substitutes will receive step 1 of the Instructional Assistant or Paraprofessional 2025/26 hourly rate of pay for hours worked in the summer school program.

Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desired; preference will be given to Instructional Assistants and Paraprofessionals who are bilingual.
