Housekeeping Aide - Casual Call-In

Available opportunities include: Casual; Day/Evening/Night shifts.   

What you’ll be doing 

• Maintaining Clean and Safe Environment: 

• Removing waste; 

• Adhering to legislative requirements (e.g., WHMIS); 

• Vacuuming, dusting, emptying wastebaskets, rearranging furniture; 

• Daily cleaning and disinfecting all resident areas; 

• Sweeping/mopping floors; 

• Spot cleaning; 

• Infection control; 

• Mixing cleaning solutions; 

• Using appropriate levels of supplies; 

• Heavy cleaning (windows and walls); 

• Preparing rooms for new residents (deep cleaning); and 

• Reporting on broken equipment and building repair needs. 

• Maintaining Stock and Supplies: 

• Monitoring inventory of supplies; 

• Informing supervisor of supply needs; and 

• Replenishing supplies. 

• Customer Service: 

• Ensuring resident privacy; 

• Respecting resident’s property; and 

• Advocating on behalf of the resident. 

What you bring 

• Ability to operate appropriate mechanical equipment i.e. washer, dryer, vacuum cleaner, burnisher, auto scrubber, Clorox 360.

• Understanding of infection control principles. 

• Working Knowledge of: WHMIS, Inventory Management & Control. 

• Compassion, professionalism, and respect.   

• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
