PA will be working in collaboration with 10 other PAs on a rotating schedule. While the schedule is variable based on the needs of the service, in general, the PA can expect to work three 12-hour shifts per week. Of these shifts, between 3-4 will be weekend days (Saturday OR Sunday) in a 6-week period and 4-5 will be night shifts (7p-7a) in a 6-week period. There will be no call from home.
Christ Hospital Neurosurgery is recruiting for a Physician Assistant to join one of the Top Neuroscience Programs in the state of Illinois. Working in a Top of License Practice in a Busy Level 1 Trauma center-
- Must desire working nights in an autonomous work environment and be motivated to learn from multiple providers
- Will work with a large collaborative team composed of 5 attendings 13 surgical PAs and Neurosurgery residents
- Perform medical services overnight on weekdays and weekends for Neurosurgical and Neurointerventional patients in support of the medical plan and follow up care needs
- Serve as First Assist in the OR when necessary
- Assist with coding and billing compliance
- Participate in clinical integration and quality management
- Three-12 hour shifts per week
Position Requirements:
- Master's Degree or equivalent as a Physician Assistant effective January 1 2018, 1 year PA experience in the relevant setting preferred
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with an Electronic Medical Record
- Current Certification (NCCPA)Current licensure in the State of Illinois Current Illinois Controlled Substance License within 6 months of hire
- Eligible for DEA registration Possession of a current DEA Registration within six months of hire and may vary based on practice site
- Current BLS Certification Current PALS/ACLS certification may vary based on practice site
