EXCITED TO GROW YOUR CAREER? WE’RE GLAD YOU’RE HERE! Plans and manages a team that delivers onsite technology and program registration technology solutions for clients. Responsible for effective and efficient solutions for business needs, primarily through the planning, design, managing, and implementation of technical solutions including leading diverse teams and vendors. Scope Manage and assist with/oversee onsite budgets while coordinating, planning, advising, directing and evaluating members of the deployment/onsite team. Manage staffing, organizing and overall vendor management to when appropriate to include communications, invoicing and payments and technician staffing needs. Responsibilities include overall onsite technology management encompassing communications (client and vendor, as appropriate) and budgets. Manages approximately 2- 6 deployments/events per year and oversees approximately 50-60 deployments/events per year. May have direct reports. Reporting and Working Relationships May report to Director of Event Registration Solutions, Director of Onsite Services or Division Vice President. Interacts regularly with external clients and vendors, as well as Operations, Guest Services, onsite staff and application development teams. Primary Responsibilities 40% - WORKLOAD MANAGEMENT: Monitors incoming work requests and makes resource assignments to team. Coordinates with, provides guidance to, and promotes communication amongst team members. Works with management, peers, and team members to develop and implement effective processes, procedures, and methodologies. Influences and coordinates resources outside of one’s own scope of control to meet client needs and Maritz business objectives. Participates in workload management meetings and supports cross utilization of teams. Responsible for managing of internal projects/client projects as it relates to technology solutions. Completes labor forecast sheet monthly and ensures direct reports complete the forecast in a timely basis. 30% - PEOPLE MANAGEMENT: Directs and manages team by providing guidance, ongoing aspirational coaching and mentoring. Removes obstacles and promotes both the team and the individual. Creates an environment in which people have authority, initiative, and ability to manage their own work. Interviews and makes hiring decisions. Documents performance reviews and issues. Recommends compensation, promotion, and disciplinary action. Ensures the ongoing training of employees, including meeting/event management and technology training. Motivates, encourages, recognizes, and ensures aligned direction of employee efforts through performance management. 30% - PROPOSALS & PRESENTATIONS: Assists the account team with the sale of solutions to clients by presenting demos and presentations. Responds to request for proposal (RFP) technical questions and costing. Qualifies correct technology platforms and alerts management of any potential labor concerns. Qualifications 1. College degree or equivalent technical certification is required. 2. 5 years’ prior project management experience with conference and meeting logistics and/or work within Onsite Event Services required. Experience with budget planning and staff management preferred. 3. Technical Acumen - Configure, deploy, troubleshoot and maintain onsite registration systems and applications including the ability to: a) Computer network administration – ability to configure an internet connection and apply basic networking skills. b) Configure networking across multiple registration areas and citywide locations. c) Monitor system and network performance. d) Configure server redundancy and recover from any unforeseen system failures. e) Configure and launch application/ perform data server splits. f) Use proprietary system to input data, produce credentials/tickets and run reports. 4. Must be proficient in and able to effectively utilize MS office products. 5. Ability to lead a team and direct the work of others while in a high stress performance driven environment. 6. Ability to multi-task and ability to implement and handle multiple projects while traveling. 7. Effective communication skills related to technology concepts and recommendations to clients, executives and managers to influence decision making. 8. Heavy travel required – up to 60% of time is spent traveling or on location at events.
