Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in advancing Arch Re’s Strategic and Major Initiatives.  As part of a newly established Strategic Portfolio Management team, you will report to the Strategic Portfolio Management Lead and will be responsible for managing initiative outcomes in line with expectations and within approved constraints. 

You will be responsible for establishing and leading cross-functional initiatives from initial ideation through to completion, ensuring a well-defined project vision that is understood by team members and stakeholders, planning for risks, managing execution, and achieving project success metrics. You will have a proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflicts; deliver tough messages with grace; and execute with limited information and ambiguity.

**Note: The preferred worksite location for this job is Hamilton, Bermuda. We are open to candidates located in New Jersey, US or London, UK.**

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Overall accountability for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering successful enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic and major initiatives.
• Frames and scopes the project vision and approach, collaborating with stakeholders to define benefits plans and business case, ensuring the initiative outcomes align with business goals and support overall organizational strategy.
• Develops and maintains project roadmaps and plans, including financial forecasts, with a focus on delivery of business value.
• Orchestrates initiative delivery across multiple internal and external delivery teams and across multiple locations.
• Works in partnership with cross-functional team members and external stakeholders to manage interdependencies, reduce project risk, and to find solutions to any obstacles to project completion.
• Establishes and embeds a Testing Strategy for strategic initiatives, ensuring appropriate controls are in place prior to releasing changes.
• Work closely with the Business Change Manager to identify and address potential resistance to change and incorporate appropriate communications and training into initiative plans. 
• Contribute toward the development and/or refinement of Project Management methodologies, tools, and templates to enable the efficient management of each project.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience: 

• University degree required, with a numerate or business-related emphasis, an advanced degree advantageous    
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in project management, program management, consulting, strategy, or related area
• Outstanding project management skills and acumen, including experience with a broad range of project planning tools and concepts.
• Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the project objectives, inspire, and motivate staff, and maintain alignment with the business strategy.
• Experience with managing strategic, and operationally complex projects with cross-functional teams.
• Flexibility and responsiveness in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment
• Facilitation skills – ability to lead small to medium groups of internal and external stakeholders towards desired outcomes to meet business objectives.
• Interview skills – ability to conduct discovery sessions with stakeholders to diagnose business opportunities, elicit requirements and conduct other types of research.
• Excellent verbal and written presentation skills, confident and credible when presenting.
• Ability to think creatively and work collaboratively with teams to solve business challenges.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
