Job Responsibilities

Job functions will vary greatly but include tax research and memo writing, preparing and / or reviewing State and Local Sales and Use tax returns, and analyzing company information for planning opportunities and analytical risk analysis. The keys to succeed in such an environment are to look beyond the ordinary, have a positive attitude and a willingness to take on any challenge.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess the following :
- Three to five years of SALT tax review and preparation experience, with a preference towards pass-through entities.
- A deadline mentality and the logistical skills to plan and implement a comprehensive and coordinated compliance plan.
- Experience performing research and following developments on SALT issues.
- Ability to take the lead role on audits and other issues as required.
- Serve as the information source and subject matter tax expert in this area for the companies of The Agora.
- Exposure or experience with GST and VAT (global indirect tax) a plus.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and general business and economic policies.
- The ability to multi-task and change gears under pressure is extremely important.
- A willingness to see no task as too large or too small.
- Confidence, but not arrogance, and the ability to work independently are personal traits necessary to succeed as part of our team.
- Familiarity of OneSource Indirect Tax Solutions Software preferred.
