We are seeking a Director of Post Production to lead and elevate post production for the The Mel Robbins Podcast. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of post-production, ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality video and audio content that inspires and motivates millions of people around the world.

As the Director of Post Production, you will manage a team of talented video and audio resources, own workflows, and uphold the highest creative and technical standards. You will collaborate closely with production and other cross-functional teams to ensure every project is delivered with precision, innovation and impact. While you will be a key voice consulted for studio capture, the core focus of this role is driving excellence in all things post production.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the post production team--including video editors, audio editors and other post production professionals such as mixers and engineers--to deliver exceptional video content on time and at scale
• Oversee the full post production process, ensuring efficiency, consistency and excellence in editing, color correction, audio mastering, final file delivery, and file archiving
• Develop and refine post production workflows to enhance quality, speed and collaboration across the team
• Maintain and enforce brand and quality standards, ensuring all content aligns with the creative vision and engages our global audience
• Innovate and optimize post production strategies, leveraging the latest technology, AI and industry best practices to push creative boundaries and uplevel workflows
• Ensure seamless file and asset management, including video and audio file organization, archiving and version control, and licensed materials management
• Collaborate closely with producers, content and social teams, and leadership to align post production execution with overall content strategies
• Ability to problem solve in high-pressure environments, making quick and strategic decisions to meet delivery deadlines without compromising quality standards
• Stay ahead of industry trends, tools and techniques to continuously improve our post production capabilities and outputs
  
  

Qualifications:

• Have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in film, media production, visual arts or related field
• 10 years of experience in post-production, in a high-volume, high-impact content environment (podcasts, digital media, broadcast or entertainment)
• 5-7 years of experience in people management and building, leading and developing teams
• Experience managing the workloads and workflows for onsite, remote and freelance editors
• Expert knowledge in Adobe Premiere, Avid Pro Tools, After Effects required - knowledge in other post-production tools, such as Descript, a plus
• Strong technical knowledge of video formats, compression, color grading and audio mixing
• Strong work ethic, a self-starter who takes initiative and thrives when collaborating with a team
• Exceptional project and resource management skills, with keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills - must be able to give and receive constructive feedback, foster a positive work environment, and orient towards solutions when facing a setback
• Familiar with high quality finishing vendors to contract for color, sound, and visual effects
• A solutions-driven leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-performance environments
• Experience working in top-tier digital media, podcasting or broadcast production is highly preferred
• A passion for storytelling and creating visually compelling, high-quality content that resonate with audiences
