Position Overview
The Manufacturing Finance Manager will be a key member of our manufacturing leadership team and play a pivotal role in day to day financial operations of the plant ensuring financial transparency, accuracy, and accountability across the manufacturing operations and co-own the plant P&L. Through strategic financial planning, analysis, and process optimization, the Manufacturing Finance Manager will contribute to the overall profitability and growth of the organization.
Job Responsibilities
Financial Analysis
- Serve as the main point of contact for monthly financial forecasts, including cash forecast, inventory forecast, plant P&L analysis, and site planning with volume forecasts for long-term profitability planning.
- Develop and monitor the 5-year capital expenditure plan and track the execution of the current year's spending.
- Act as the go-to resource for analysis on plant spending and identify opportunities for loss reduction and improvement.
- Conduct spend analysis on all indirect and conversion costs and analyze lead times to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead and coordinate the financial compliance process at the plant, including cycle counts, reporting accuracy, and cost accounting for the site.
- Assist with financial transactions including payroll, payment assistance for vendors, cash flow forecasting, monthly close process, inventory management and cost accounting.
- Build out weekly and monthly reporting structures with the team.
- Design appropriate presentations to present financial information to executive leadership, including monthly and annual presentations to internal plant stakeholders and executive leaders.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records as required by law.
- Lead compliance efforts and gather information to ensure all relevant state incentives are captured and the necessary information is provided to obtain relevant tax credits.
- Consolidate plant metrics and integrate them into the relevant corporate structure.
- Work closely with department heads and managers to understand their needs and drive the business forward.
- Promote an inclusive environment where all departments collaborate to support production costs.
- Learn and develop processes for the financial system (NetSuite) to ensure financial accuracy in BOMs, financial reporting, and maintain the integrity of all financial reporting systems.
- Oversee the execution of the HRIS system for payroll assistance and benefits payout and maintain the system's integrity.
- Serve as a plant leader to develop and foster a positive culture.
- Conduct daily manufacturing GEMBA walks.
- Lead and coach production and plant employees to understand key KPIs and financial metrics.
- Knowledge of financial and financial reporting best practices.
- Ability to develop and implement financial controls.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to challenge numbers and reporting.
- Ability to resolve reporting and financial system issues.
- Passion for manufacturing and willingness to support cross functional teams while designing robust financial processes.
- Bachelor's degree in business finance or related field
- Proven experience (5 years) in a manufacturing environment for financial analysis
- Experience in managing capital projects and assisting in the project tracking for a plant build-out.
Exposure to both the office setting and food manufacturing facility.
- Significant amount of time working at a computer station.
- Occasional visits to various areas of the manufacturing floor.
- Must wear required PPE while in all manufacturing areas.
- Moving parts and machinery are present in the plant.
- Frequent sitting, standing, or walking.
- Occasional ability to lift up to 20lbs.
- Noise levels will vary, higher noise levels exist while in the plant operations areas.
