Job Summary
The Business Development Leader is responsible for growth of the Arch P&C Programs portfolio and leads new opportunity processes and due diligence. This includes all due diligence reviews and onboarding for potential new programs. As a member of the P&C Programs senior leadership team, the Business Development Leader will collaborate on setting direction for the business unit with other senior leaders, and offer insights and suggestions for the governance, underwriting and program management leaders. The Business Development Leader provides marketplace intelligence and information to underwriting and program management team members, and assists in delivering communication to MGA partners. This position will report to the EVP, P&C Programs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop strong relationship with Program Administrator key personnel to unearth viable new business opportunities for Arch.

2. As part of Arch Programs’ senior leadership team, contribute to setting strategic direction for the business unit, measuring execution and establishing process and procedures for operational excellence.

3. Generate new business due diligence documentation protocols for use by the Arch Programs.

4. Responsible for documentation of and file quality for all new program submissions.

5. Quarterback due diligence of new opportunities through established Arch Business Process Management (BPM) process.

6. Works collaboratively on behalf of P&C Programs and Alt Markets with other underwriting support teams within Arch including Product, Corporate Underwriting, Actuarial, Premium Accounting, Finance, Legal and Compliance.

7. Leads participation and organization of trade show participation including collaboration with program administrator partners.

8. Represents Arch at bi-annual Target Markets conference. Appropriately communicates company’s appetite and messages.

9. Attends monthly team meetings and other required Programs meetings in person. Communicates regularly with team members and support areas via conference calls and 1:1 discussions.

10. Collaborate with Program Managers and EVP, Arch Programs in annual planning process and ongoing measurement to insure plans are met.

Requirements
BA Degree, MBA preferred, in business or risk management
15 years experience in commercial insurance, preferably working with Managing General Agents
10 years experience in commercial insurance carrier business development, leading efforts to grow through organic as well as new sources of distribution
Strong communication and teamwork skills
For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$200,000 - $225,000/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
