Job Summary
The Regional Vice President of Arch National Accounts Casualty (NAC) is responsible for the overall technical underwriting and account management of loss sensitive casualty programs for the Southeast region; this includes working with retail brokers to attract and retain these accounts as well as management/development of staff.
Responsibilities
Achieve NAC Financial Plan – Targets for ROC, combined ratio, expense ratio, rate change, renewal retention, and paid and case ratios.
Maintain Underwriting discipline:
Develop action plans for renewal business to ensure we balance high renewal retention with underwriting action needed on certain accounts.
Quality of Over Authority Referrals - Covers important issues in an appropriate manner.
Build for the Future:
Develop Regional Plan - Components to include Staff Development and Broker Strategy. Broker Strategy should include dual strategy around major brokers and next tier of brokers.
Developing a culture within the region consistent with NAC's and Arch's direction and strategy.
Deliver on NAC service standards to brokers and customers
Work with staff to identify all potential exposures and hazards in relation to coverage requested and individual risk characteristics
Work with staff to assesses insurance and related financial risk and structures appropriate loss sensitive program to effectively protect against frequency, severity, catastrophic and credit risk
Together with internal team members, takes responsibility to deliver promised service to customers.
Knowledge of coverage terms - Workers Compensation, Excess Workers Compensation, General Liability and Automobile Liability
Knowledge of large deductible, retrospective, self-insured and single parent captive insurance programs
Understanding and knowledge of exposure identification and analysis
Possess a cross functional generalist knowledge of other disciplines including claims, risk control, audit, premium accounting, finance and legal.
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues
Have the ability to influence and be willing to work in a collaborative and team environment
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Education and Experience
Strong Sales and Negotiation skills
Strong customer service, negotiation and presentation skills
Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
College degree preferred
At least 15 years of related experience preferred
Large Casualty Accounts experience required

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
$178,100 - $240,958/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
