POSITION SUMMARY
Seeking underwriters with Primary and/or Package upstream Oil & Gas experience, in addition to learning or growing an understanding of Construction and Specialty risks. Underwriters will manage a diverse group of wholesale clients and risks across the Central US.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Underwrite technical risks within a diverse set of industries across a variety of products including Primary, Umbrella and Excess in accordance with Arch Insurance business standards and sound underwriting practices.
- Manage a book of business to achieve organization goals via the effective utilization of assigned resources in the interpretation, implementation and achievement of these business goals.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with assigned brokers, agents, policyholders and industry groups.
- Participate in marketplace initiatives to expand the overall Arch brand and the specific Business Unit reputation through interface with regional customers, brokers and other industry professionals.
- Complete special projects as assigned by the RVP
- Work independently as a member of a team while building a profitable book of business.
- Develop strong relationships with brokers in order to successfully manage our business which will require travel to producer location.

- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Prioritizing work, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- BA or BS undergraduate degree, with exposure to Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration or Finance preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of P&C production underwriting experience
- Experience writing Primary and/or Package upstream O&G
