Responsibilities
- Mentor and support instructors to ensure effective and engaging training.
- Oversee student training by leading pre-trip inspections, yard skills, and road driving instruction.
- Emphasize safety and professionalism in all aspects of training.
- Monitor student progress and assist instructors in preparing students for their CDL exams.
- Track training effectiveness and provide feedback to improve instruction.
- Maintain proper documentation, including student evaluations and training records.
- Work collaboratively with other instructors to provide an effective training experience.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license with a minimum of 24 months of verified tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Must reside in Florida or have a residence in place for relocation.
- Safe driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
- Basic computer skills to track student progress and scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Leadership experience.
- Experience mentoring or training instructors and students.
- Driver Training Instructor certification (If required by the state, we provide guidance and support to help you obtain this certification.)
- Knowledge of FMCSA and CDL training standards.
- Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles.
