The Role And What You'll Do

As an Jr. Art Director, you are proficient in traditional design programs and have a deep understanding of the specific design demands of both traditional, digital and experiential media. You strive to produce innovative and memorable cross-channel work that continues to make our agency, and the brands we work for, stand out and be talked about in the industry and around the proverbial water cooler.

This position requires a passionate and talented Art Director with a sharp eye for attention to detail who will create and execute daily design deliverables across a wide variety of creative mediums. You are obsessed with every facet of design from kerning to color theory and geek out over dissecting a brand guide. You pride yourself on delivering award-winning design solutions in a time-crunch. You are a design athlete and have experience creating campaigns across a variety of platforms including experiential, branding, identity design, print, digital, OOH and more (motion design a plus).

  • Play a hands-on role in the delivery of outstanding creative and results, working collaboratively within a cross-disciplinary team and environment
  • Ensure consistency and efficacy of design throughout all creative
  • Assist in Art Direction of creative from concept to end product with the ability to self-manage multiple projects and tight timelines
  • Work within the client’s established brand guidelines and visual tone of voice
  • Leverage talent for design and concepting to contribute to entire campaigns that solve for consumer needs and business goals
  • Successfully communicate creative ideas by confidently presenting your creative to leadership by articulating and rationalizing creative decisions with strategic insights
  • Apply learnings to test a multitude of creative iterations and evolving best practices
  • Stay consistently relevant and up-to-date on all marketing trends and culture in effort to bring fresh ideas, sharing with peers and the broader team
  • Assist in development of exceptional concepts for a wide range of advertising including branding, TV, social, digital, print, OOH and more
  • Work closely with project managers and account teams across the life span of a project
  • Work effectively with all stakeholders to complete projects within timelines and budget parameters
  • Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, Slack and Google Slides
  • Receptive to creative feedback and adaptability in creative development process; take direction from senior creatives

You Have These:

  • 6 months to 1 year of Art Direction experience within an ad agency or similar setting
  • Degree in art direction, graphic design, marketing/communication design or similar field
  • Be fearless and not afraid to fail
  • A natural curiosity for the unique, the buzz-worthy and the culturally relevant with a willingness to push forward brave, new ideas
  • The optimism to think bigger, the curiosity to dig deeper, and the passion to do better
  • The ability to adapt to new ideas, processes, and business problems with ease and enthusiasm
  • A professional attitude and an openness to feedback that commands the respect of supervisors and colleagues
  • An appreciation for the relationship between copy and visual elements
  • We expect our Jr. Art Directors to understand that a product isn’t truly great unless the copy and the art direction/design support each other
  • Eagle eye attention to detail
  • A passionate desire to be a part of an agency built for marketing today
  • A love of the data and results and the gamification of the creative to keep pushing for record breaking results in a campaign
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
  • Digital portfolio of drool-worthy advertising, design, campaign concepts and relevant creative endeavors
  • Ability to take strategic direction when conceptualizing and assist in polished execution of work
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some nights/weekends
