Position Summary
Interconnectivity management is the core responsibility of this position. This position’s primary responsibility is oversight of Inside Plant fiber connections, Meet Me Room (MMR), Points of Entry (POE) from outside fiber vaults and riser management to the MMR. Additional scope includes client deployments and space. The position requires strict adherence to meeting industry standards for quality, presentation, delivery, and overall management of routing within the facility.

PLANNING:
- Assess / monitor infrastructure support for capacity planning.
- Provide input on data hall, riser and MMR over all capacity requirements and utilization.
- Review/Validate and report on space and sizing requirements for new engagements and growth of existing customers to support internal interconnections (Cross connects & interconnects).
- Plan, price and budget requirements, connections, redundancy and infrastructure capabilities to ensure effective capacity is maintained to a quality standard and ability to quickly and efficiently deliver high quality connections.
- Participate in the planning for Physical Infrastructure and the connectivity to support changes.
- Manage densities associated with risers, MMR and data halls, complete with current floor plans, diagrams, schematics and labeling schedules / signage as appropriate. Professional documentation real time is critical to this function. Develop processes to keep schedules up to date and always accurate.
OPERATIONS:
- Provide and/or coordinate fiber and connectivity installation activities/changes with client and client vendor staff to support cabinets/racks according to layout design and installation requirements.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose connectivity issues internal to 1623 Farnam.
- Support equipment and cabinet/ rack changes and issue (trouble shoot) per facility Methods of Procedure (MOP).
- Participate in the prioritization of installs/de-installs to consider escalations and customer schedules and align with client resource availability.
- Create, Print and Install power circuit/cabinet/cross connect labels according to facility MOP
- Monitor activities, operation, and usage within the facility to ensure the use of proper IT disciplines and regulation compliance.
- Enforce House Rules.
- Participate in initiating work orders for facility issues (lights, leaks, etc.).
