Job Summary Health Educators work closely with the employee wellness program as well as the corporate wellness programs established within the communities we serve. Health Educators are expected to create and implement programs, coach high risk individuals, lead support groups, teach wellness classes and report outcomes for Prisma Health and corporate wellness. They must model a healthy lifestyle, have a positive attitude, and uphold the Prisma Health corporate values. Accountabilities Manage internal wellness program; serve as a liaison between the Business Health department and various other departments within GHS; research and evaluate policies and procedures regarding system-wide wellness initiatives, lead a campus wellness committee, create and implement wellness programs, hold educational booths, schedule and teach classes, and communicate with campus representatives. Manage external wellness program; conduct one-on-one health coaching, hold monthly or quarterly status meetings with company representatives, assist with screenings and consequently present aggregate report data to company, create and teach wellness programs and marketing materials, lead health fairs, schedule and teach Lunch and Learns, and ensure the company is reaching its health care goals Coach low to moderate risk populations using strong motivational interviewing and public speaking. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree - Health related field, education, wellness or exercise science 1 year - Health promotion/intervention/education, exercise science, public speaking, health coaching Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses n/a In Lieu Of The Minimum Requirements Listed Above n/a Other Required Sills and Experience Basic computer skills, Knowledge of office equipment, proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database), Data entry. Master's degree preferred. Health education/coaching and/or personal training certification preferred. Experience in tobacco cessation, weight management and/or coaching preferred. Knowledge of specific disease states such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, CHF, CVD, COPD, obesity, depression/anxiety, tobacco use, etc preferred.
