Description
1736 Family Crisis Center offers crisis intervention services, including four 24- hour hotlines, as well as longer-term services in client advocacy and outpatient psychotherapy. The residential counseling and support services include shelter programs for (1) runaway and homeless adolescents, (2) domestic violence and human trafficking victims and their children (emergency and transitional programs (3) Homeless prevention and rapid re-housing services for the general population and Veterans and their families. Community outreach programs are provided to educate the public and prevent mental-health problems in the general population and in targeted groups to at-risk populations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides case management services, including assessment of client needs, and follow-up in order to ensure that clients’ counseling, medical, job development and related needs are met by community resources
- Provides formal and informal individual, group, and family sessions for clients; and as needed, for aftercare clients
- Provides life skills training, e.g., developing resumes, preparing for interviews, budgeting, stress management, communications skills, etc.
- Assists client with job development activities. Assists with developing and implementing appropriate treatment plans; including but not limited to social work/advocacy plans
- Provides and develops referrals to appropriate services
- Reviews assigned cases in all aspects and takes responsibility for completion of all goals and objectives. This includes ensuring that all record keeping, advocacy, and social work services are carried out as needed, and in a high quality and timely manner
- Accompanies clients to court or social service providers as needed
- Provides client crisis intervention during scheduled shift
- Ensures client adherence to house rules, taking disciplinary action when appropriate
- Provides advocacy services for clients
- Conducts counseling groups for clients, as directed; Conducts like skills training groups for clients, as directed
- Conducts parenting education groups for clients, as directed./necessary for population needs
- Assists with client therapeutic recreation/art activities
- Provides for the physical safety of clients in the event of accidents or disasters; Helps coordinate/conduct client fire and earthquake drills, as directed
- Attend meetings as directed, including but not limited to weekly staff meeting related to client issues
- Performs outreach duties as directed
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- B.A. Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field
- Experience providing case management to clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Organized and able to prioritize workload

Salary : $26 - $28
