What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Outreach & Engagement Specialist position at 180 Degrees Inc?
We seek a professional with experience in sales, marketing, or community engagement to build awareness of our mission, program, and service impact in the community. Efforts will support the Building Brighter Futures $3 million capital campaign.
This role will partner with 180 Degrees Executive Leadership team, Advancement team, and SE MN shelter team to build awareness of the program, need, and community impact.
Specific accountabilities include:
- Lead community engagement and fundraising in the region
- Contact community, civic, and business leaders and prospects
- Schedule and attend community meetings
- Conduct presentations in the community
- Plan, organize, host small scale events for organizations, individuals, business, and community leaders
- Recruit and manage volunteers and the Community Advisory Board
- Schedule and lead shelter tours
- Enter data accurately and timely in our Contact Management System
- Advise on longer term strategies to ensure excellent stewardship
Qualifications
- 3-5 experience in an external facing role with demonstrated success
- Knowledge of southeast MN and Rochester community or willingness to network to build connections
- Strong communication skills; effective communicator verbally and in writing
- Self-starter able to work independently, communicate with team in person and remotely
- Creative and collaborative team player who can advance the mission of 180 Degrees
- Passion for meeting the needs of youth and families in crisis so that everyone can achieve their full potential
