Salary Range: $70,000 - 75,000 annually

Position Overview:

 

The Training Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all training requirements related to licensing, funding, and regulatory standards. This role develops, implements, and delivers the annual training plan and policies for 180 Degrees, ensuring training programs remain current, effective, and aligned with organizational needs.

 

As part of the Quality Department, the Training Manager works closely with Programs and Human Resources to create a culture of learning and professional development, ensuring that all staff receive consistent, high-quality training at their worksites. This role also oversees the learning management system (LMS), monitors compliance, and manages key training-related partnerships.


Key Responsibilities

 

Training Development & Delivery

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organization-wide annual training plan and policies to meet compliance requirements.
  • Deliver New Employee Orientation (NEO) and ensure all employees receive situational, job-specific, and refresher/annual training as required.
  • Ensure that training aligns with licensing, funding, and regulatory requirements for all programs.
  • Provide training and support to internal trainers through a Preceptor Program, ensuring consistency and high standards across worksites.
  • Oversee onboarding training to ensure new employees receive comprehensive and effective instruction tailored to their roles.
  • Stay informed on industry best practices, regulations, and training innovations to enhance the organization’s training programs.

 

Learning Management System (LMS) & Compliance Oversight

  • Oversee the LMS, ensuring all training sessions are properly documented and accessible.
  • Track and report training completion rates, compliance status, and staff development progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of certifications, licenses, and compliance-related training for employees.
  • Monitor and update training policies and procedures to align with changing regulations and best practices.

Staff Development & Trainer Support

  • Identify training gaps and opportunities for staff development across the organization.
  • Train and mentor on-site trainers to standardize workplace instruction and ensure staff are adequately prepared.
  • Facilitate train-the-trainer programs, equipping internal trainers with the knowledge and tools to deliver consistent, high-quality training.
  • Work closely with Human Resources and Program Leadership to ensure training needs are met across all sites and departments.

Professional Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Attend conferences, professional development sessions, and certification programs to bring new insights and best practices into the organization’s training programs.
  • Manage and maintain records of critical partnerships and professional memberships that support training and staff development, including YIPA, Youth Collaboratory, YSN, and other agencies with dues or training resources.
  • Coordinate opportunities available through these partnerships and communicate relevant offerings to staff.
  • Research and integrate new training methods, tools, and content to enhance learning experiences for staff.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, data analysis, and direct observation, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Social Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2 years of experience in training and development, instructional design, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of licensing, funding, and regulatory training requirements (DHS, DOC, COA, PREA, etc.).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training record management.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver engaging training programs to diverse staff teams.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor others, ensuring consistent learning experiences.
  • Willingness to attend professional development opportunities and integrate new learning into organizational training.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in training, instructional design, or adult education (e.g., CPTD, ATD, Train-the-Trainer).
  • Experience in a nonprofit, human services, or social services environment.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and de-escalation training.
  • Experience coordinating large-scale training programs and managing compliance data.

 


Work Environment & Schedule

  • This role is hybrid/in-office, requiring attendance at training sessions across multiple sites.
  • Some travel may be required for training, conferences, or program site visits.
  • Standard work hours apply, but occasional evenings or weekends may be needed for training sessions.
