CMM Programmer (Contract-to-Hire)

Hourly Pay Range: $48.00 - $52.88/hour, eligible for overtime. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to the market data.
Description for CMM Programmer:
As the CMM Programmer, you will demonstrate extensive knowledge of Calypso programming. You will work closely with manufacturing engineering generating CMM programs for the various operations as product goes through from rough to finish product.
Key job attributes include:
- Strong experience with Zeiss CMMs and Calypso programming
- Must be adaptable and comfortable with quick adjustment to the new environment as there are only 2 people in the department
- Must be resilient and able to work in multiple industries with a variety of product and parts
Responsibilities for the CMM Programmer:
- Uses trigonometry tables to calculate dimensions.
- Discusses with Engineering areas requiring process improvements.
- Makes determinations as to which parts require a CMM program.
- Makes determinations as to which dimensions require CMM inspection.
- Work closely with Engineering and Production control to determine priorities.
- Develop and write procedures in regard to CMMs.
- Verify Models developed in house.
- Train CMM operators in the operation and minor programming.
- Procure CMM tooling and act as the point of contact for CMM suppliers.
- Assist with day to day functions in the Q.C. Lab as it pertains CMMs.
- Develop inspection plans as needed.
- Assist CMM operators with any CMM issues.
Qualifications for CMM Programmer:
- 3 years of experience as a CMM Programmer
- Strong experience with Zeiss CMMs and Calypso programming
- Knowledge of GD&T per ASME Y 14.5.
- Knowledge of machine tools and processes.
- Knowledge of CAD based systems.
- Able to work with 3D models business
- Variety of experience with parts, products and companies
- Being on a small team and self-manage
