The Offering Leader Will
- Service Strategy & Development: Defining and evolving a compelling portfolio of consulting services that leverage advanced data analytics, business intelligence, and emerging technologies to support Electric Utilities.
- Client Engagement & Solutioning: Effectively articulating how our solutions address utility business objectives, fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders, and identifying new opportunities to maximize client technology investments.
- Market Positioning & Awareness: Enhancing industry recognition of 1898 & Co. as a business intelligence and analytics consulting leader by driving marketing strategies, thought leadership, and external engagement.
- Growth & Expansion: This role will also explore opportunities to expand offerings to meet market needs and demands, broadening the firm’s reach and impact.
Responsibilities
Client & Industry Leadership
- Lead discussions with clients to communicate the business value of analytics and data-driven decision-making.
- Apply industry expertise and best practices to architect, design, develop, and implement utilities-focused solutions that address complex business challenges.
- Provide leadership on market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging business intelligence and analytics technologies.
- Present at industry conferences, customer briefings, and internal events to enhance 1898 & Co.’s presence and expertise.
- Collaborate with technical teams to define project scope, solution architecture, and technology strategy to ensure successful delivery of consulting engagements.
- Support project estimation, planning, budgeting, and execution of projects.
- Maintain compliance with company and site safety policies.
- Lead the development of key client proposals, including crafting compelling value propositions.
- Manage a pipeline of opportunities and collaborate with business development and sales teams to drive revenue growth.
- Develop and implement sales tools, collateral, and training programs to enable the team.
- Conduct product demonstrations and customer presentations to showcase solutions.
- Support critical sales pursuits by participating in marketing efforts and strategic engagements.
- Build and maintain relationships across the organization to identify and leverage internal capabilities for project delivery.
- Forecast resource requirements and contribute to team growth planning.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to junior staff, fostering professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support 1898 & Co.’s mission and business objectives.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field from an accredited program.
- Equivalent years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 13 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years of experience identifying and implementing solutions for enterprise technology systems.
- Experience delivering enterprise technology projects, preferably in a consulting capacity within the electric utility industry.
- Strong understanding of electric utility operations, business processes, and supporting technologies.
- Proven track record in developing technology-driven solutions that drive business outcomes.
- Experience leading and managing projects from business proposal through implementation and post-production support.
- Experience with data platforms, business intelligence tools, and analytics solutions is preferred.
- Deep understanding of financial concepts and ability to assess the business impact of technology investments.
- Broad knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
- Experience developing service offerings aligned with industry needs, from concept to deployment.
- Product management experience is preferred.
- Ability to identify customer needs, develop recommendations, and persuasively deliver them.
- Demonstrated success in managing consulting engagements and leading cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional facilitation, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate complex business and technical concepts to a diverse audience, including executives, technical teams, and clients.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas to all levels of stakeholders.
