JOB SUMMARY :
A sprinkler fitter is responsible for installing, inspecting, and repairing sprinkler systems.
Additional responsibilities include :
- Inspecting : Checking the work site for obstructions and making sure that cutting holes for pipes won't weaken the structure
- Planning : Planning installation and repairs to avoid obstructions and other workers
- Scheduling : Ability to schedule inspection and repair workload.
- Cutting : Using saws, pipe cutters, and pipe-cutting machines to cut pipe
- Assembling : Assembling and installing a variety of pipes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic
- Installing : Installing piping and equipment, such as overhead and underground water mains, fire hydrants, standpipes, and more
- Ensuring safety : Working safely with tools like drills, saws, and wrenches.
