1905 New Media, an integrated marketing firm based in St. Louis is seeking a Strategy Director to join our management team. We are looking for an advanced marketer who is adept at influencing others. Outgoing and intuitive, the ideal candidate is effective in facilitating information, proactive in client relations and showcases natural follow-through.
The Strategy Director is responsible for overseeing the agency’s management of client accounts, from onboarding and campaign development to execution and long-term client retention. As a key member of the leadership team, the Strategy Director mentors a team of Marketing Strategists and Account Managers, drives process improvements, and ensures seamless collaboration across departments to deliver a positive and effective client experience. Additionally, the Strategy Director leads the development of integrated marketing campaigns for their own clients, ensuring multi-channel strategies deliver results.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the Client Services division and elevate team performance by providing technical direction and professional support, identifying areas of improvement, and developing solutions to ensure smooth team operations that align with organizational strategy
- Build relationships with and provide business and marketing consultation to a diverse base of clients and prospects to drive initiatives and provide strategic focus
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and manage processes for new client onboarding and discovery
- Facilitate creative and strategic brainstorming with division leaders, internal teams and clients to come up with innovative campaigns
- Develop effective strategies and custom solutions to achieve client goals utilizing all agency divisions, including website development, digital marketing, branding and public relations
- Analyze data reports and make recommendations to drive engagement, impressions, awareness, thought leadership, lead generation/nurturing and conversions for clients
- Edit and provide feedback on a wide variety of client deliverables, including short- and long-form content pieces, website sitemaps, website designs, keyword plans, video storyboards, ad campaigns, public relations pitches, and more to ensure quality of work and brand consistency
- Conduct 90-day and annual performance reviews for all direct reports
- Assist with team recruitment and oversee the training of new division staff members, including Account Managers and Marketing Strategists
- Provide advice and conflict resolution management to staff and work with the HR department to handle inter-division disputes and conflicts
- Work with the financial department to plan and develop your division's budget
- Contribute to the overall growth of the agency through business development efforts, including writing and pitching proposals, participating in new business sales meetings, and attending networking events
Qualifications:
- 10 years’ experience working in a marketing agency or equivalent setting
- Prior experience building and motivating a team
- Bachelor’s degree in mass communications, marketing, advertising, public relations or a related field
- Advanced knowledge of marketing principles and brand management, including an understanding of website development, data analytics, social media, email marketing, public relations, search engine marketing, photography and/or videography, and content marketing
- Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Ability to identify problems and solve them quickly and efficiently
- Comfortability using AI tools for streamlining tasks, research and writing
- Upbeat, team-oriented attitude toward colleagues and clients with a desire to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment
- Familiarity with acting as a business consultant or history of owning a business

Candidates must be located within a 5-hour drive to the St. Louis area and will be required to work from the St. Louis office and attend in-person meetings periodically based on client and team needs.
