What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at 1925 PubHouse?
Summary of Position:
The dishwasher team member’s primary objective is to provide a clean and safe kitchen area for our team, while washing and cleaning tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. Keeps the dishwashing area and equipment clean and organized, and assists with cleaning other areas of the restaurant as needed. Follows all safety guidelines and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities:

- Assumes responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware.
- Loads, runs and unloads dish machine. Ensures proper chemical levels at all times.
- Keeps the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems to the kitchen manager right away.
- Monitors dish machine water temperature and chemical levels to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
- Washes and stores all tableware and kitchenware to Health Department standards.
- Keeps dish area clean and organized.
- Maintains adequate levels of clean tableware, pots and pans for dining room and kitchen operations.
- Bags and transports kitchen trash to dumpster in a safe manner.
- Transports and disposes of grease and ash in a safe manner.
- Handles tableware and equipment carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Maintains adequate levels of dish detergent and cleaning supplies. Communicates with Kitchen Manager regarding the dish station's needs.
- Cleans food preparation and production areas as required.
- Puts away stock from product deliveries according to company and sanitation standards.
- Attends all scheduled team meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or other members of the management team.
- Jumps in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by management. Always adheres to safety standards.
- Demonstrates personal ethics, values and a sense of commitment in the work environment.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a positive attitude and work well with others.
- Must be able to work unsupervised.
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 35 pounds. Any lifting over 35 pounds requires team lifting.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 12 hours on occasion.)
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Must be able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
Uniform Requirements:
- Clean non-slip shoes
- Socks must be worn
- Clean black non-denim pants
- Clean company-supplied shirt and apron
- Hairnet or hat (company hat only)
- Daily bathing and use of deodorant
- Company-provided protective gear as required.
