About 19th Judicial District Court
The Nineteenth Judicial District Court is one of Louisiana’s 43 judicial districts and has original jurisdiction of all civil and criminal matters in East Baton Rouge Parish. There are fifteen elected judges (Division A through Division O) in the 19th JDC.
About the role
The Compliance Officer is responsible for monitoring the status of the participants' progress with treatment and compliance with the program terms of supervision. Work is performed under the supervision of the Recovery Court Coordinator, and involves meeting with participants on a regular basis, and providing reports to the Court concerning participant compliance. Performs other work as requested.
Location & commitments
Office located within the 19th Judicial District Court
Full-time; hours may vary based on position
Court hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
On-site in Baton Rouge, Louisiana
Responsibilities
Maintain participant files and provide status updates to the treatment team
Implement incentives and sanctions, as applicable, for program participants after collaborating with the treatment team
Perform random drug screens
Updated risk/need assessments as needed
Attend weekly staffing, court, and scheduled policy meetings
Testify in legal proceedings
Conduct home visits
Make referrals to address identified barriers to success
Detain and arrest program participants as required
Investigate and locate AWOL participants
Candidate Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Corrections, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field preferred. Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST) Cerification required. Experience working as a compliance or probation officer preferred.
