The Investment Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support to the Investments leadership team. The Analyst will perform research, analysis, and underwriting to support both one-off and build-to-rent (BTR) acquisitions.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with business development, market directors, and acquisition leadership to identify new investment opportunities
Create comprehensive underwriting documents, including detailed location analysis and other due diligence
Analyze internal and external market data, demographic trends, and economic indicators to inform underwriting decisions and assumptions
Model cash flows, return projections, and other financial metrics to assess investment viability
Draft detailed investment memos and present comprehensive analysis for review by the Investment Committee
Ensure all supporting documents, including financial models and market research, are thorough and accurate
Oversee the regular updating and maintenance of reports on investment performance
Design and implement new reports to track key portfolio and pipeline metrics
Ensure data accuracy through regular review of financial models and investment performance data
Track deal pipeline activity, including underwriting progress and investment status
Collaborate with asset management to ensure data consistency in pipeline reporting
Analyze and prepare recommendations for improving investment and management process
Provide detailed ad-hoc analysis and insights to support decision-making
Complete projects assigned by the SVP of Investments and other duties as assigned
Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, accurate materials
Who We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related fields
Minimum 1-3 years of financial modeling experience, with real estate focus preferable, but not required
Advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
Strong Excel skills and an in depth understanding of financial modeling related to underwriting investments, including the implementation of DCF, IRR, Cap Rates, YoC, etc.
Experience utilizing a technical skill (e.g., Excel, Python, Tableau, SQL, etc.) through previous employment, research projects, or personal initiatives
Experience working in environments requiring problem-solving, adaptability, or collaboration, even if outside the real estate or financial sectors
Possess superior analytical abilities
High degree of intellectual curiosity
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to facilitate presentations and speak in public to large groups of people

Salary Range
$61,650.00 - $106,860.00Compensation and Benefits
