Operations Manager
The purpose of the Operations Manager is tooversee the planning and coordination of a company's inventory and purchasing departments. They are tasked with researching best prices, monitoring inventory levels, distributing supplies, and negotiating contracts.
Reports to: Plant Manager
Primary responsibilities include:
- Schedule Shop floor: Manage optimum production sequencing based on demand and prioritization
- Monitor all inputs required for Production plan execution, elevating, and adjusting as required to ensure 100% on time delivery
- Track production and scrap
- Track Inventory Days on Hand
- Solve, correct, and root cause inventory discrepancies
- Coordinate with management on shortages affecting internal production departments
- Plan safety stock based on optimal stock quantity and run size
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly staffing plans
- Maintain Capacity Plan: Understand constraints and production throughput
- Ensure suppliers are meeting shipping deadlines
- Analyze ERP systems purchasing requirements
- Prepare and place purchase orders
- Reorder all raw material and component inventory as required
- Must demonstrate strong analytical, communication and negotiation skills
- Informs customers of delivery expectations when appropriate
- Drives continuous improvement, lean and 6S initiatives regarding all plant operations
- Manages, motivates, and leads production employees to ensure production requirements are met within quality standards and in accordance with customer delivery schedules
- MRO procurement as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Required skills and qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, and Excel
- Plex experience a plus
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systems
- Hands-on experience with forecasting and budgeting
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
Education / Skills
- BS degree in supply chain management, business administration preferred
- APICS certification desired in CPIM or CIRM
- SAP and experience using MS Excel formulas
- Minimum 2 years production control/supply chain management experience in a scheduling/ planning role
- Minimum 1 years of hands on Lean Manufacturing experience desired, Heijunka experience desired
- Experience with pull systems, level loading, forecast accuracy, and capacity planning preferred
- Legally able to work in the U.S. without requirement of visa sponsorship/transfer now and in the future.
Salary : $90,000 - $100,000
