Residential Construction Project Manager

We are looking for an Experienced Project Manager to manage and execute our residential remodeling and custom home building projects. Our ideal candidate is motivated with a hard-working attitude, who has experience in the residential construction industry. This candidate must be a team player who is personable, organized, and driven to succeed!

A little bit about 1st Choice Builders... We are a residential general contractor based out of Lakeland, MN. All of our work is in the St. Croix Valley. Almost all of our work comes by referral - our customers want to work with us! We pride ourselves on being full-service and always making it right no matter what it takes.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the successful planning, execution, and control of a project to completion
• Coordinate the efforts of all parties involved in the project, including but not limited to, architects, designers, selection coordinators, homeowners, sub-contractors, vendors, carpentry crew, and accounting
• Work with homeowner from the start to finish of a project to ensure a clear understanding of the project vision and scope
• Monitor project schedule and communicate schedule adjustments
• Manage and monitor project expenditures vs. budget/estimate
• Resolve routine project challenges (deadlines, material, labor, etc.)
• Supervise employees and sub-contractors on job-sites; assign job responsibilities and work plans
• Continuously strive for improvements and efficiencies in the production process
• Monitor and order tools and equipment as needed
• Update Builder Trend daily for schedule, budget, tracking, Daily logs, tasks etc to ensure smooth project flow and on time completion
• Perform office duties as required

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 5 years lead carpentry experience; or preferably 2 years project management experience
• You are driven, know how to manage & motivate people, use time effectively and think ahead strategically
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of residential construction and carpentry, including but not limited to practices, procedures, techniques, building codes, tools, equipment, materials and specifications
• Ability to read detailed plans and blueprints
• Effective & creative time management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
• Exhibits initiative and takes accountability for outcome of decisions
• Able to work with minimal supervision, possess self-discipline and effectively prioritize
• Able to communicate effectively and professionally, a problem solver that has a positive can-do attitude that will do "whatever it takes" to get it done accurately & efficiently
• Proficient with technology, computers and computer programs
