We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver (Independent Contractor) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This position requires a strong understanding of driving regulations and the ability to operate commercial vehicles, including box trucks.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a delivery vehicle, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload goods, utilizing equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary.
- Navigate efficiently to various delivery locations, maintaining punctuality in all deliveries.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients and recipients.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safety and reliability.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries, including documentation of any issues encountered during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a delivery driver, courier, or in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally.
- Proficiency in operating box trucks and familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading goods.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to driving and handling goods is essential.
