Director of Patient Services
The Director of patient service, RN (DPS/RN) is responsible for the administrative, professional and clinical operations of the home health care program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse in NYS!!!
- Must have 2 to 4 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a patient care setting
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or administrative position in a home care organization
- Previous LHCSA and MLTC experience is a great plus;
- Preferably UAS certified.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct day to day healthcare and professional operations of home health services; compliance with all pertinent, current rules, regulations, standards, policies and guidelines.
- Develop, implement, review and update all policies and procedures in accordance with the needs and rights of participants and caregivers in compliance with acceptable standards or practices.
- Overall responsibility for the coordination and integration of home care services with community programs.
- Coordinate the established marketing program and implementation of strategies to maintain established referral sources and ensure the development of new sources and markets.
- Make written and oral reports and recommendations to the Administrator as necessary, concerning the operations of the Agency.
- Responsible for implementation of the recruitment, hiring and supervision of all home health program staff.
- Participate in the development and implementation of an effective staff training and development program for all personnel; identify areas in need of growth; provide opportunities for growth; conduct competencies and proficiency reviews.
- Conduct employee counseling and provide guidance and support as necessary.
- Interface with Human Resources Department regarding compliance and other related human resources management functions as needed.
- Monitor patient care activities to ensure appropriately competent and compassionate care is provided to all members.
- Ensure delivery of quality care to all patients; follow up on members’ care transition and continuity of care provided by the Agency's staff.
- Participate in program development as per the organization’s strategic plan, i.e. new program and markets; explore all possible avenues and opportunities for growth.
- Conduct home visits to supervise staff, competency reviews and evaluate patient care.
- Respond to complaints/grievances; ensure implementation of the Agency's incident/accident program.
- Participate in the Agency’s performance improvement and continuous quality improvement program as a CQI Coordinator.
- Conduct periodic record reviews to ensure compliance and in anticipation of DOH and DOL surveys.
RN Instructor:
1. Teach the school curricula approved by the Department of Health;
2. Prepare teaching plans based on the content of topics and skills practice;
3. Provide theory and practical instruction to the students;
4. Develop and strategize class schedule to meet students' learning needs;
5. Facilitate and improve current course programs;
6. Prepare testing materials to evaluate students’ performance;
7. Coordinate school program-related events;
8. Assist in translating the curriculum, course work, power point presentation, quizzes and examinations in other language as necessary
9. Monitor and help students with struggling academic progress
10. Perform additional duties designated by the School Director to achieve success of school course programs.
