A rapidly growing small woman-owned small business (WOSB) with a strong presence in the federal government contracting space seeks a highly skilled Finance Manager to oversee all financial operations, ensuring compliance with government regulations and supporting strategic business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, adhering to GAAP and government contracting standards.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost optimization.
- Develop and present comprehensive financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and insights to inform decision-making.
- Contract Management:
- Manage the financial aspects of government contracts, including contract pricing, invoicing, and compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Monitor contract profitability, identifying potential cost overruns and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure timely submission of required government reports and compliance audits.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Track budget performance against actuals, identifying areas for improvement and adjusting as needed.
- Accounting Operations:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and general ledger management.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
- Compliance and Audit Support:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes and address any identified issues.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a small finance team, providing guidance and development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative work environment focused on efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within a government contracting environment.
- Strong understanding of government contracting regulations, including FAR and DFARS.
- Expertise in accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and financial reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify key trends.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
