Nutrition Specialists

1st Choice, LLC is seeking an experienced Nutrition Specialist to support our client in the management and enhancement of their school nutrition program. This role is crucial in ensuring that school meals meet strict USDA Nutrition Standards, with a focus on menu planning, nutrient analysis, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in school nutrition, with the opportunity to directly influence the health and well-being of students through the development of nutritious, well-balanced menus.

Location: Suitland, Maryland

Key Responsibilities:

• Finalize and review monthly menus to ensure compliance with USDA Nutrition Standards.
• Conduct nutrient analysis of menus and complete production records using Mosaic BOH (Inventory and Nutrition Software).
• Enter menus into the MealViewer platform for public access and create menu signs.
• Review specification sheets and update ingredients in Mosaic BOH as needed.
• Collaborate with the team to address any nutritional concerns or adjustments required.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation and reporting related to menu planning and nutrition analysis.

Work Schedule: Part-time 8:00am - 12:00pm

Full time 8:00am - 5:00pm

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field is required.
• Must have a valid State of Maryland Registered Dietitian License; School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) certification highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Programs (NSLP, SBP, At-Risk Afterschool Meals, FFVP).
• Experience in menu planning for K-12 programs.
• Proficiency in using Child Nutrition Software for production records, nutrient analysis, and public menu platforms.

Candidates must successfully pass a background investigation, which includes a drug screening and may also include fingerprinting, depending on the specific requirements of the contract.
