Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care within our ophthalmology clinic. This position involves assisting ophthalmologists in various clinical tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic, and maintaining accurate medical records. The Ophthalmic Technician will work closely with patients to gather vital information and support their journey through eye care.
Duties
- Perform preliminary patient assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical history.
- Assist with various ophthalmic procedures and tests, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
- Maintain and manage medical records accurately, utilizing electronic health record systems such as Epic.
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy relevant to ophthalmology to assist in examinations and procedures.
- Uphold aseptic techniques to ensure a clean and safe environment for both patients and staff.
- Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions as directed by the physician.
- Support clinic operations by managing equipment, supplies, and maintaining an organized workspace.
Experience
- Previous experience in an ophthalmology setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and collaboration sales is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of anatomy related to eye care is beneficial for effective patient interactions.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and collaboration within a team environment are essential.
