The Fire Watch position is critical for maintaining safety in environments where fire hazards are present. Responsibilities
- Monitor work areas for potential fire hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding safety concerns.
- Be prepared to act swiftly in the event of a fire, including calling the fire department.
- Document any incidents or observations related to fire safety and report them to management.
- Participate in safety training sessions and drills as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a safety or fire watch role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of fire prevention techniques and emergency response procedures.
- Ability to remain alert and focused during long periods of monitoring.
- Strong communication skills to effectively relay information to team members.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting if necessary.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid or Fire Safety Training is a plus.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by the employer.
