Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Support residents in maintaining their personal hygiene and cleanliness of their living space.
- Facilitate social activities and encourage participation in group events to enhance community engagement.
- Drive residents to appointments or community outings as needed.
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure compliance with long-term care regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident care and progress notes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care plans.
- Lift and assist residents as necessary while ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Experience
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a group home setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of long-term care practices and resident rights is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving residents as required.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred for transportation responsibilities.
