ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serves as Business Development Officer for an assigned Region:
- Develops a top customer calling list and serves existing and prospective customers through the customer Centered Marketing Plan.
- Works with assigned Region Board Members, Area Board Members, and Community Offices to generate leads and referrals.
- Develops professional relationships with accountants and attorneys within the assigned Region to generate leads and referrals.
- Calls on realtors and auto dealers to generate mortgages and indirect loans.
- Advises customers of the use of available bank loan, deposit and wealth management products and services, anticipates, informs, and guides customers in making proper financial decisions.
- Directs Human Resources development and performance as it pertains to assigned Region Professionals regarding business development and sales.
- Direct and immediate response to customer requests or needs with the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Must be able to build and cultivate client relationships, as well as develop new business.
- Controls flow of customers by directing them to proper sources to achieve timely completion of service needs.
- Responsible and accountable for meeting monthly and annual sales goals and objectives.
Directs staff at assigned regional branch offices as it relates to customer issues:
- Identifies and advises on levels of service for customers.
- Identifies and advises on appropriate courses of action on certain customer-related issues.
- Identifies and advises on sales and cross-sales opportunities with customers.
- Identifies and advises on business development opportunities with customers.
- Coordinates the closing of transactions, new loan papers, etc.
Interviews prospective loan customers and uses lending authority to grant loans and refers loan requests above lending authority to designated loan officer(s):
- Responsible for credit quality under approved authority or as directed by Chief Lending Officer.
- Prepares and presents loan presentations to Discount Committee for approval.
- Must perform at a high level regarding commercial lending and commercial services.
Participates in meeting Retail Banking Groups long and short-term goals and objectives:
- Attends annual meetings to develop departmental goals.
Serves on various Committees:
- Sales and Business Development.
- Retail Banking Group
Strict adherence to Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and safeguarding customer information.
Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or 5 years’ experience in business related field with managerial experience and a proven business development background.
- Broad range of management, sales, marketing, and leadership skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to communicate in person, through email or via telephone with customers and staff members.
