UX Designer

We are at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids. As we transition from R&D to full-scale manufacturing, we seek an experienced and motivated designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for helping us develop a user experience that delights our users. Collaborating closely with the broader development teams, you will play a vital role in everything from wireframing to deployment. The ideal candidate will have a background in digital user experience design, with extensive expertise and hands on experience in product development. We are looking for individuals with a proactive "get-things-done" attitude, who excel in both long-term strategic planning and day-to-day execution of practical tasks.

Within one month, you will...

• contribute to the design of multiple touchpoints.

• get hands-on time and take part in testing design prototypes.

• own one or several work streams.

• perform prototype testing and evaluation with users

• work to implement rapid and constant improvements.

• help implement best practices and methodologies that you have learned.

• contribute to shaping product development, based on our understanding of our customers wants and needs

Responsibilities:

• Help establish and evolve our methodology for creating exceptional user experiences across our platforms.

• Be proactive and hands on through our journey of continuous improvement.

• Collaborate on the design and implementation of new features and improvements to user interfaces.

Must-Haves:

• Strong analytical, verbal and written skills

• A clear interest in how people act and think.

• Technical proficiency in appropriate tools (Sigma, Sketch, Adobe Suite, Balsamiq, Axure RP, Hotjar, Maze, UserTesting)

• Demonstrated and documented knowledge of how to develop consumer-grade user experiences.

Nice-To-Haves:

• Experience in working on technology projects and with roboticists.

• Familiarity with implementing user testing frameworks to monitor user engagement and ensure product fit

• A degree in a design-adjacent field, such as psychology, sociology, cognitive science or economics.

Typical interview process

• Introductions - interviews to learn more about you and talk about 1X and the role

  • Interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition team

  • Hiring manager / senior team member / technical interview

• Team interviews - technical interviews and deep-dives with team members. May include a take home challenge, presentation or problem-solving exercise

  • Technical deep-dive conversation with a team member

  • Onsite interviews with team members

• Final stages - you move to the final round

  • Expectation management with the hiring manager

  • We will conduct reference checks

  • Job offer conversation
