Vision System Tech Lead

We hire, recognize, and reward based on merit.As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for a Vision System Tech Lead to design and implement custom vision systems for our humanoid robots. In this role, you will lead the development of advanced stereo camera and vision processing solutions, ensuring seamless integration into our robotic systems. You will work hands-on to deliver ultra-low latency, high-performance vision systems that enable cutting-edge capabilities in teleoperation and autonomy.ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop custom stereo vision systems, including optics, sensor integration, and FPGA / ASIC-based image signal processing (ISP).Architect and implement ultra-low latency vision processing pipelines tailored to the demands of real-time robotic operation.Collaborate with hardware, software, and AI teams to integrate the vision system into the robotic stack, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Develop and optimize stereo depth processing solutions, enabling advanced perception capabilities for humanoid robots.Drive hands-on development, debugging, and testing to validate the vision system under real-world conditions.Lead the evaluation of new technologies and components to continuously enhance vision system performance.Mentor and guide engineering team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.RequirementsProven industry experience designing and delivering custom stereo vision systems, including optics, sensor integration, and output processingExpertise in FPGA and ASIC architectures for real-time vision applications, with hands-on experience in ISP and compositingStrong software and electrical engineering skills, with a track record of implementing and debugging complex systemsExperience building and managing technical teams to deliver hardware-intensive projectsIt will be nice if you hadFamiliarity with media streaming protocols (e.g., RTSP, RTP, SDP, WebRTC)Experience accelerating AI inference and computationally intensive processes on FPGAKnowledge of DSP and audio signal processing for spatial audio and beamformingExposure to ASIC design and fabrication processes specific to vision systemsBackground in robotics or related fieldsLocationWe believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence in our office locations.Sunnyvale, CA We are in the heart of the SiIlicon Valley in a commuter-friendly location with plenty of parking, access to 101 or 280.
