Winery Tasting Room Server

Are you fun, outgoing, and love meeting new people? Are you passionate about wine, or simply curious to learn more? We’re looking for full and part time Wine Servers to help us create amazing guest experiences in our tasting room. If you love working in a fast-paced social environment, this could be the perfect job for you. And don’t worry – we’ll teach you everything you need to know about wine!

COMPENSATION

• $13/hr. base rate
• Inclusion in the tip pool (average $8-12/hr.)
• Performance-based cash incentives and spiffs for wine club sales

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Be the friendly face that greets guests, answers questions, and makes their visit a memorable experience
• Chat with guests about our wines, our story, and why Northern Michigan wine is amazing (we’ll teach you the details!)
• Keep guests engaged with pleasant conversation and top-notch customer service
• Accurately use the point-of-sale system to ring up sales while maintaining accurate tasting room inventory
• Check ID’s to make sure everyone sipping wine is of legal age to consume alcohol
• Help keep the tasting room, restrooms, patio, storage, and break areas looking their absolute best
• Be awesome!
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• A passion for people, great conversation, and making guests feel at home
• Strong verbal communication skills – you enjoy talking with people and can keep a conversation flowing
• Ability to multi-task, stay organized, and keep up in a fast-paced environment
• A positive, team-oriented attitude
• Availability to work weekends and holidays
• Previous retail or service industry experience is a plus, but not required
• The ability to stand, move, or walk for extended periods of time
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• One to three years of related experience is preferred but not required – we're happy to train the right person!
• High School Diploma, AA degree, or a combination of education and experience
• Must be 19 years of age or older
