This Organization works with residents, government officials, community leaders and other partners to accomplish affordable housing development. With a team of 120 committed and community centered professionals, the organization offers a suite of complex and impactful business lines: multifamily real estate development, single family scattered site property management, single family construction and rehabilitation, accessory dwelling unit construction and financing, homeownership cultivation and financing, various financial health and wealth building tools and resources, rental assistance and mobility opportunities, technical assistance and guidance for developers and municipalities looking to grow workforce housing opportunities and various lending/financing products for single family and multi-family development. The Organization is comprised of a partner company and two affiliates, one of which is a certified community development financial institution.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Senior Vice President of Fund Raising and Marketing (SVP) serves as an integral member of the Executive Management team. The team is charged with building from the existing strong financial foundation and strategically plotting a course of ongoing financial sustainability and continued growth for the organization and its affiliates. Responsibilities include securing financial resources through grants, appeals, fee for service, and revenue generating initiatives which support short and long-term organizational goals. A large component of this work includes furthering the organization’s marketing strategy and development. This effort will leverage the recent rebrand and its success to generate sustainable growth. The SVP will oversee and mentor the Marketing and Development department.
Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the Executive Management team, cultivate an annual, and medium term (three year) comprehensive development plans defining goals, objectives, methods, quantifiable outcomes and timelines.
- Develop and monitor an annual fund budget with revenue and expense projections.
- Actively manage all sources of funding, including legacy funds/programs with 20 different banks, grants and events. Evaluate/consider launching an individual giving campaign.
- Actively develop a creative approach, investigating possible program partnerships and strategic alliances, to secure an enhanced donor base with an emphasis on enhancing community awareness.
- Deliver and execute a comprehensive marketing plan that includes events, media relations, press releases, social networking, Annual Report, website, newsletters, and branding.
- Collaborate with all departments to gain insight into all programs, obtain information for reporting, comply with donor expectations and be aware of programmatic needs for funding to fill gaps or unmet client needs.
- Along with the CEO, act as outward face of the organization.
- Manage and promote the large annual events, including the annual luncheon and annual sporting event. These events currently generate $225k in revenue per year. Consider as part of the overall marketing plan, changes/additions to these events to increasing revenue.
- Develop positive brand awareness to strengthen community reputation.
- Mentor and cultivate the Marketing and Development staff (team of five grant writers, marketing managers and events staff).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, business administration, or a related field.
- 10 years of development, grant writing/execution, marketing and/or fundraising experience.
- A flexible work schedule is a must as this position requires evening hours and some weekend availability.
- An exceptional ability to communicate, both written and oral, with the ability to influence and engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds cultivating long-term relationships.
- Strong public speaking and networking skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and exceptional attention to detail.
Salary : $225,000
