The role of bartender will serve to enhance the guest experience by preparing and creating craft cocktails. The bartender will also be responsible for food service to guests, expediting drink tickets from service staff, all while keeping the standards and recipes consistent.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Food Service and Drink Preparation: be able to serve bar guests, prepare drinks for the dining room, and take a small section of tables as needed.
Bar Preparation and Cleanliness: stock sodas, beer, wine, syrups, juices, purées, ice, glassware.
Menu Knowledge:
- Be able to prepare specialty and classic cocktail recipes according to house specifications.
- Be able to talk about all beer and wine offerings and have awareness of temporarily unavailable (86’d) items
- Keep up to date with food menu descriptions, allergens, and local purveyors to ensure a knowledgeable and safe experience for internal and external guests.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal liquor laws and regulations and enforce these regulations with all service staff.
- Must have valid New Mexico Servers License.
Additional Duties:
- Read and abide by all handbook policies and training manual procedure
- Assist coworkers with setup and break down of events, be flexible with daily assignments and shifts as needed.
- Attend trainings and classes to refine menu knowledge and service skills.
- Assist with offsite events as they become available.
Skills Required:
- Ability to use POS system and other service-related software systems
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods and in a high-volume environment
- Must have physical ability stand and walk for prolonged times, lift heavy objects, climb stairs, and sometimes work in the heat.
Qualifications:
- Preferred, but not required, two years experience.
- Interested in sourcing locally and seasonally.
- Possesses a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn and take direction.
- Self-motivated, positive demeanor, punctual, strong multitasking skills.
- Must be willing to work occasional holidays, nights, and weekends.
Compensation / Perks:
- Competitive Hourly Wage: $20-$35/hr on average. Actual pay is based on gratuity generated, and based on the night, we forecast our team earning between $15-$45/hr.
