Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting optometrists in providing exceptional patient care within a clinical setting. Experience in front desk operations, medical records management, and knowledge of optical systems is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and manage front desk operations, including scheduling appointments and handling inquiries.
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations by performing preliminary tests and gathering patient medical history.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens care and frame selection, ensuring an excellent retail experience.
- Manage optical inventory and assist with the fitting of eyewear as needed.
- Ensure the clinic environment is clean, organized, and welcoming for patients.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic to document patient information accurately.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a clinical or optical setting is not mandatory.
- Familiarity with front desk operations and managing medical records is essential.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Proficiency in retail sales techniques related to optical products is advantageous.
