Our internship program is designed to provide you with a meaningful work experience in purchasing that both enhances your technical skills and expands your understanding of the home building industry. Our goal is that the program will give direction to our interns in making a career choice after graduation.
Job Duties & Requirements:
- Contribute and assist in the following areas:
- Purchasing Order Review
- Filing and organizing all information in electronic database
- Creating initial work orders and purchase orders for all construction starts via the preliminary purchasing reports (PPR)
- Obtaining labor / bid budgets from vendors, enter data and verify accuracy
- Constructing bid packages for new communities, new plans, and plan revisions using Buzzsaw
- Provide additional support to the construction staff members as assigned
- Other duties as requested
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university degree program.
- Strong analytical thinking, organization, leadership and problem solving.
- Strong communication (orally and written) and able to collaborate effectively with team members, management and customers.
- Proven ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and contribute to group success.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and effective decision-making.
- Proficient in using MS Office.
