Job Summary:
Ensure great customer service; Preserve the integrity of the games with close scrutiny of employees and customers. Provide a pleasant and protected area for customers. Assist in training personnel. Responsible for supporting the Companies mission, vision, and values by providing fun and games like no place else and adheres to the Canterbury Way by focusing on our core values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain visual presence on card club floor as much as possible.
- Adhere to all rules and procedures.
- Render impartial decisions using all available means, i.e.; dealer information, player information, and surveillance review.
- Inform Pit Manager when a customer is dissatisfied with a decision. Be certain to fully brief Pit Manager about all problems and situations.
- Continually observe games in progress for possible irregularities in player conduct.
- Ensure that dealers are enforcing proper procedure and making correct payouts.
- Maintain awareness of special events and promotions and communicate this information to employees and patrons.
- Meet new customers and greet returning players. Assist in making new customers feel welcome, instructing new players on games that they have questions about
- Ensure that MVP players are getting credit for their play and are correctly rated, getting new players to sign up for the MVP program
- Inform Pit Manager of any deviation from standard dealing procedures
- Relay any information regarding daily business to incoming Floor Persons at shift change
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Pit Manager.
- Do whatever is necessary to maintain the appearance of the card club.
Supervision:
- Supervise the proper performance of pit dealers by observation and by reporting to Pit Manager.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Extensive game knowledge and prior dealing experience.
- Must be adaptable, versatile and tactful in dealings with the public
- Reliable, pleasant personality, able to deal with difficult customers and situations.
- The ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure is essential
- Must have basic computer knowledge
- Canterbury Park conducts pre-employment screening for all positions which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
- Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
