What are the responsibilities and job description for the Buyer position at 2024 New Logo?
Position Summary
Through organization and teamwork, the Buyer position will support both our internal and external customers. Successful candidates will have keen attention to detail, enjoy working with others and display a sense of urgency. This position will work closely and report to the Purchasing Manager. The Purchasing Buyer role will support the Purchasing department with various related departmental tasks such as but not limited to; issuing purchase orders for internal and external use items, contacting and negotiating with vendors, developing vendor relationships, tracking shipments to customers, process orders for invoicing, and make changes on sales orders and other related customer service duties as needed.
Responsibilities
- Issue Purchase Orders (PO) to Vendors.
- Follow-up on PO’s issued to vendors: current status, lead time, and retrieve tracking information.
- Make changes on sales orders, as directed from sales representatives.
- Push out ship by dates in CRM when orders are delayed and make internal notes.
- Receive/Post/Invoice PO’s when tracking information is retrieved.
- Coordinate will calls/pick-ups with the vendor and internal employees.
- Keep a close eye on the Buyouts Box for priorities, will call orders/deliveries and informs purchasing agents.
- Procure direct and indirect materials and maintains reorder points for production and ancillary services.
- Review orders for completeness, accuracy and compliance with existing policies and procedures and ensure all purchasing procedures and guidelines are followed.
- Demonstrate a continual effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively with other departments to provide a quality and seamless operation.
- Obtain information from individuals; communicate with supervisors and peers.
- Organize, plan and prioritize work.
- Maintain records, reports, or files.
- Answer customer calls and emails in a professional manner.
- Occasionally collect data on material customers want to sell us. Occasionally Issue bids for purchase for customers and Asset recovery specialists in the field.
- Set up freight shipping for POs as needed.
- Process material returns to vendors (RTV) and ensure credits are issued.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated advanced communication and analytical skills along with organizational skills and great attention to detail; intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with an ERP system.
- Proficiency to learn new systems and processes and be able to work effectively with team members from all levels of the organization are required.
- Proficiency with inventory management software / ERP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated external focus – customer service driven.
- Proficient in making decisions and solving problems.
- Organizing, planning and prioritizing work.
- Strong leadership skills including the capability to drive improvement and challenge the status quo.
- Positive attitude, well organized and attention to detail a must.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in related field and a minimum 5 years of experience or a mix of education and experience.

Additional Information
Job: Full-Time
Location: Cerritos, CA
Travel: Up to 0% travel.

Compensation: $25-$27/ Hourly
