Building Location: St Marys Hospital Superior Department: 13240 Med/Surg Job Description: Responsible for organizing and providing nursing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation and job descriptions. Contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and meets the requirements of the Joint Commission if applicable and/or other federal, state and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. Work Experience: Over 2 years staff nurse experience. Education Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or ability to obtain within 3 years. Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 1 month Additional Requirements Specific to Departments: Departments 12550 (Cvl Obs), Departments 13000 (Surgical ICU), 13010 (Coronary Care ICU), 13020 (Medical ICU), 13050 (Neuroscience ICU), 13070 (Burn Med Surg): Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year Department 12280 (Interventional Radiology) at SMMC location only: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one-year Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year. Department 12500 (Emergency Services Tech Department): Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year Pediatric Advanced Life support (PALS) certification within 1 year Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification within 2 years (excluding Superior location) Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 2 years Department 13030 (Newborn ICU), 13290 (Nursing – Birthplace): Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within one year Department 13220 (Nursing – Pediatrics) Department 13290 (Nursing-Birthplace): Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year Department 13240 (Med/Surg), Superior location ONLY: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one-year Department 13470 (PACU): Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within one-year Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within one year.
