What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Diesel Technician position at 205 DIESEL REPAIR?
We are seeking a SELF-MOTIVATED, HIGHLY EXPERIENCED individual to expand our already outstanding team.
We service and repair LIGHT, MEDIUM, AND HEAVY DUTY trucks. our workload is about 50/50 on Light/Heavy duty trucks. Hours are MONDAY-FRIDAY, 8AM-5PM, with optional Overtime on Saturdays when we get busy. Payday everyday Friday, always guaranteed work, unlike many flag positions.
Applicants should have a minimum of 6 years experience working on various trucks such as Peterbilt, Freightliner, Volvo, Kenworth. Applicant should be able to work efficiently with or without supervision. Experience with automotive and LIGHT DUTY diesel trucks is PREFERRED but not required
We are looking for a technician with a STRONG Electrical background and experience with troubleshooting on DETROIT, CUMMINS, VOLVO or other trucks. You should have a close relationship with Mr. Powerprobe and Mrs. Diagram!! They are your friends. If you hate to see a Diagram comin, this shop is not for you. We pride ourselves on being able to accurately diagnose and repair our customer's vehicles, and we compensate our technicians well for it.
Applicant should be very strong in Cummins and Detroit engine repair, electrical troubleshooting, following OEM Troubleshooting procedures, J1939 Faults, experienced with all OEM softwares such as Insite, PTT, DDL, etc. and familiar and experienced with but not limited to the following tasks
-Removal and Install of clutches, transmissions, drivelines.
-Maintenance and Knowledge of Aftertreatment/SCR Systems.
-Removal and Install of turbochargers and EGRs
-Removal and install of fuel injectors
-Removal and install of engine cylinder head
-Removal and install of various engine accessories such as Air Compressors, AC compressors, alternators, starters, fan clutch, etc.

Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with diesel engines
- Repair and replace faulty components, such as brakes, transmissions, Injectors, Tires, Wheel Seals, and fuel systems, and more.
- Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance on diesel engines and vehicles
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete repairs
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed
Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of diesel engines
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively
- Experience with brake repair, HVAC systems, and heavy lifting
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills
