REPORTS TO/TERM: Principal, this is a temporary, 6-7 weeks position

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated School Teacher to temporarily join our educational team for the summer term. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, inspire students, and contribute to their academic and personal growth. This role involves engaging with students in a dynamic classroom setting, developing lesson plans, and implementing effective teaching strategies tailored to diverse learning needs.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Our teachers (all grades) are required to perform the following duties:

• Plan and implement a blended learning environment, providing direct and indirect instruction in the areas of Social Studies, World History, Science, Language Arts, Health, and Mathematics based on state standards
• Create an inviting, innovative and engaging learning environment that develops student critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Prepare students for strong academic achievement and passing of all required assessments
• Communicate regularly with parents as needed
• Continually assess student progress toward mastery of standards and keep students and parents well informed of student progress by collecting and tracking data, providing daily feedback, weekly assessments, and occasional parent/teacher conferences
• Work with the Special Education teachers and administration to serve special needs students in the classroom
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsible
• Accept and incorporate feedback and coaching from administrative staff
• Attend all required staff meetings

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 24 credit hours in content area
• Valid Indiana Professional Educator License for Grades K-5, 6-8 or 9-12
• Strong technical skills, particularly in integrating technology in the classroom to drive academic achievement
• At least two years of successful teaching in an urban environment
